BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo addressing the media in Gaborone today, said CAF's Club Licencing requirement will be fully enforced in the new campaign, which kicks off August 31, 2019.

Mfolo said clubs that fail to operate an office, will be fined P2,000 and if the amount is not paid within 30 days, the team will lose six points.

For failing to have a junior team, a club would be given 60 days to comply or pay a P5,000 fine, failure which, six points would be deducted.

If a club fails to pay a player, the BFA working with the Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB), would try and resolve the matter. Failure to comply would see the club relegated to the lowest division, in the regions.

'We are serious about this. They will relegate to the last division as failure to pay players shows that they do not have a budget to run a team in the Premier League,' Mfolo said.

Up to 10 clubs in the 16-team assembly reportedly faced financial difficulties in the last season.
