The court issued the warrant after the singer failed to show up in the same court last month. Heavy K is alleged to have escaped the country when sheriffs were about to arrest him at Hilton Hotel in Gaborone last month.

Morobosi organizers through their legal team told Showbiz in an interview that Heavy K managed to squash the warrant of arrest but the debt case is still before court. The organizers accuse Heavy K of failure to show up at the festival though he was paid. They want him to reimburse them P87, 000.00.

“We hear reports insinuating that this is over but not in a long shot because the battle with Heavy K is before the courts,” they said.

The warrant of arrest was meant to bring the artist before court. One of the organizers said the warrant didn’t stop the artist from coming to Botswana. “He was never banned, in fact we are waiting for him.

He knows very well what will happen when he sets his foot here,” he highlighted.  He said the matter would soon be heard at court.

The organizers were responding to a statement issued by the easy to love hitmaker on Tuesday. “I am pleased to inform that today, being August 20, 2019, the High Court in Gaborone, Botswana, declared that the order for my arrest was erroneously obtained to the extent that I had not had any personal dealings with Morobisi Entertainment, let alone breach any contract. The order for my arrest has accordingly been set-aside with costs on a punitive scale,” read Heavy K’s statement.

Heavy K also expressed his wish to put it on record that he has the greatest respect for the rule of law and would never purposely do anything to prejudice the ends of justice.

He said he looks forward to returning to Botswana for many more performances. “The love that I receive in Botswana is simply incredible. I maintained my innocence in this matter and I have been vindicated,” he claimed.
