In an interview, one of the three group members, Bakang Mphele said the single was inspired by Eseng Mo Ngwaneng campaign led by the First Lady Neo Masisi. He said they released the song after realising that child abuse, more especially of a sexual nature amongst children was prevalent in the society.

“Child abuse is one of the cases affecting our nation. It is one of the factors that raise concern in our communities. If you listen to our song, we aggressively say no to child abuse. We urge men in our communities to let girl children grow into responsible adults and not ruin their lives by cheating them into having intimate relationships with them,” he said.

Mphele further added that he believed the most innovative way to excel in the music industry was to be creative. He also explained that music was like a gamble. He said the reason why they had not gained their initial recognition when they hit the music industry was because they had been releasing songs that were off their style and that didn’t work for them.

He however pointed out that they plan to focus on their original style saying that they hoped that it would make a great come back because that is what their fans like about them. Mphele stated that few years after they dropped album that featured Sibinjolo, they faced some challenges. The challenges are such as some emerging artists copying the group’s style therefore negatively affected the group’s relevance as people were confused as to who is who in the industry.

“To people it seemed like we lost our touch when we tried to differentiate our brand from the new comers. We are currently working on our upcoming album titled Classic Jives, which will be released towards the festive season. We are promising a killer one as we have gained a lot of experience and learnt so much of this game, we have 10 years in the music industry,” he said boldly.

Boferefere was released early this month and was produced and recorded by Dr Tawanda at Mega Bass Studio. I was composed by both Makau and Vee Mampeezy.
