The event, which promises to be one of the most memorable in this year’s live music calendar, will see Sereetsi leading natives through the act’s highly acclaimed discography that has become the soundtrack to the lives of many a discerning music lover.

The highly talented Mafitlhakgosi Dance Group will accompany Sereetsi & The Natives.

The Old Naledi-based dance troupe will compliment the native rhythms and songs of Sereetsi & The Natives with choreography inspired by the various traditional dance styles of Botswana ranging from Kalanga dance moves of ndazula, dikhwaere, tsutsube to setapa.

“This is going to be a fantastic show. That’s a serious promise that I am making to the natives. Bring a friend. Bring the whole family. We will be making history on the night,” Sereetsi said in an interview with Arts & Culture.

He said that the audience could expect to hear every song that Sereetsi & The Natives has recorded in the past four years.

“I have recorded a record 18 songs in two albums - Four String Confessions and Motoko. We are going to perform each and every one of those babies and more. We often are booked to do one-hour sets and end up not performing some of the fan favourites because 60 minutes or 45 minutes can only pack so many songs. A lot of natives own CDs and over time develop relationships with songs that may not be radio singles. They always want to hear those songs that may not be very popular. With this concert, they will get to hear those songs and sing along with the band,” he said.  The dress code for the concert is Fashionably African. “The excitement among natives is already amazing. They tell me that they can’t wait to dress up a storm and join us on October 5, 2019. I am looking forward to a burst of African colours, great music and great company,” Sereetsi added.

Another special feature of the concert is that the audience will be able to enjoy proudly Botswana traditional food and drink.

“We have engaged an awesome caterer who really knows her way around the kitchen. Be ready to have your ear buds and taste buds titillated,” he highlighted.

The ticket for the concert goes for P200. Tickets are already available at Webtickets and Spar supermarkets. “I kindly urge companies and organisations to buy tickets for their clients, associates and staff. This will make a great gift for the awesome people you have been working with in 2019 since the show is happening towards the end of the year. They will thank you forever for the experience. Although its highly affordable, it will make for a priceless experience,” he said.

The show starts at 730PM and is sponsored by Maitisong, Sound Theory, Gabz FM and Mangorelo Pictures.
