Muzila was addressing the ordinary full council meeting packed with public servants, together with aspiring political candidates and members of the fourth estate.

In her address Muzila said that the extension of Galo Mall is ongoing and at 40% completion level.

She further said that the project started on February 27, 2019 and is expected to be complete by the end of April 2020.

Muzila said: “I am advised that this project is worth P79 million”.  She also said that the expansion of the shopping mall would create job opportunities for some of the Francistowners.

She encouraged the private sector to continue unlocking the available opportunities presented by the city so that they can contribute to stimulating its economy.

Galo Mall is one of the busiest malls in Francistown.  The mall is situated in the hub of the city and just a stone’s throw away from the famous Thapama Interchange commonly known as the Spaghetti road.

The shopping mall is described by most as the cleanest and a one-stop shop centre as it is home to over 30 business facilities.

Through their Facebook page Galo shopping mall indicated that it is adding more stores, which will cater for their customers’ basic needs and wants.

In addition, the Facebook page also indicated that the redeveloped shopping centre would have a well-designed upper level parking for their customers’ better shopping experience.

The shopping mall houses retail outlets like Milky Lane, Nando’s, Options, Truworths, Identity, JB Sports, Woolworths, Pick ‘n’ Pay, Clicks, Furn Mart and banking institutions such as Stanbic Bank, Barclays Bank and Bank Gaborone to only mention but a few.
