The team’s flaws particularly at the back were on show on Sunday, as the visitors spurn several goal scoring opportunities.
“We are coming from the First Division and we were playing a big team. We expected to struggle a bit since it was the first match. Going forward, I have a lot of confidence that we will improve. When we started, we gave Orapa United too much respect. But we improved in the second half. I am optimistic that the boys will gain confidence as time goes on and eventually adjust to life in the league,” Maleke said.
“ The young players we have signed are still trying to find their foot. I am confident that they will add value, ” he said
Meanwhile, it is still remains unclear as to when new coach, Saul Chaminuka will start his official match day duties.
Chamunika was not on the bench on Sunday. Maleke explained the coach’s absence was because the club is still processing his work permit.
TAFIC is reportedly on the verge of signing two foreign players. The two Zimbabwean players, a midfielder and striker, have been training with the team for some.
Maleke refused to field inquiries about the players but did acknowledge that they are training with the team.
