The once celebrated Kgatleng giants begin a quest for glory days with a visit to Fighters in the Debswana First Division South league opener tomorrow.

The four-time Premier League champions’ financial problems and factional fights played a hand in the team’s demotion from the BTC Premiership last season.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport Chiefs’ public relations officer, Mpho Marumo said the aim is to return to the elite league this season. He acknowledged that the club is still counting costs, but said there is unity in the ‘House of Chiefs’.  “We are united than ever, we have problems which are well documented and have brought us together as Magosi. We are back in one voice, we just want to be given a chance to regroup and bring back the glory days. We are going to Mogoditshane for our first game.  We are going to give it our all because this is the start to take this team where it belongs,” said Marumo.

Magosi have appointed Oris Radipotsane on a one-year deal, while they have roped in seasoned campaigners in the striking duo of Moemedi Moatlhaping and Terrence Mandaza, defender Thato Bolweleng and goalkeeper, Noah Maposa in their bid to seek promotion.  “We want to give it (our) all this season. Despite our problems, we have managed to patch (in positions) we were able to. This team will give the First Division the respect it deserves, we are excited to be part of what looks like be a very competitive season,” he said.

Meanwhile, Masitaoka will also make their First Division South League return against Uniao Flamengo Santos at the Motswasele School Grounds.

Ncojane Young Stars welcome Matebejana at the Pioneer Stadium in their debut in the division while Mochudi Rovers face Black Forest at the Rovers Grounds. Newly promoted, Holy Ghost welcome Red Sparks at the Holy Ghost Park. Last season’s runners up, Jwaneng Fighters will begin their campaign against Broadhurst United at the Jwaneng Council Stadium. All games kick off at 3:45pm.
