Barefooted Bokamoso Staff Donate Shoes

The initiative dubbed the 50-50-50-50 Campaign saw 50 male learners, and an equivalent number of girls receiving school shoes. The hospital chief Andre Ackerman and area MP Vincent Seretse, who is also the Minister of Trade and Industry participated in the march.
This, according to Bokamoso Hospital public relations and marketing manager, Mmabatho Machobane is in line with celebrating 50 years of independence.
The hospital in 2013 headed calls to help in educating Botswana through the Adopt-A-School programme, as part of companies’ social corporate responsibility. Previously, the hospital has repainted the school, helped in repairing the school kitchen, participated in the annual prize giving ceremonies and sporting activities.
Seretse commended the hospital for this noble gesture.
“Students without shoes walk barefoot in chilly winter conditions seeking the basic human right of education, hence today Bokamoso staff decided to walk barefoot, to deliver the much needed shoes to these future leaders of our country.”
“It has indeed been a walk to remember in this very cold weather and to see Bokamoso staff being selfless and putting themselves in the shoes of our children,” Seretse said.
Bokamoso Lenmedi hospital had also dedicated last week to commemorate its annual staff wellness week under the theme “Workplace Stress, A Collective Challenge.”
