BFA in race to resolve 35 player disputes

Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB) secretary general, Kgosana Masaseng said the DRC is still dealing with cases from the past seasons, something that has delayed the full implementation of the Club Licencing.
“Cases are taking too long, right now we are dealing with a backlog of cases dating back two to three seasons,” Masaseng said.
As the BFA steps up its pursuit for complete compliance, more clubs found guilty of contract breach have been paying their players.
“We are happy that teams, which are found guilty, are paying players,” he said.
He added that in the next two weeks, the DRC is expected to push through around 35 cases, before the BFA can start on a clean slate. “After that, we will then push for the full implementation of the club licencing,” Masaseng added.Some clubs have already felt the wrath of the new rules, where transgressing sides are fined or docked points for failure to pay players.
Extension Gunners, Molepolole City Stars and Gilport Lions started the season with negative points balance after they were sanctioned for failure to pay players.
