The Kwaito group of the 1990s will on September 27 share the stage with Botswana’s own Da Vet while DJs Lefatshe, Happex Guru and Kyle will mesmerise fans on the decks at Wagga Gardenex courtesy of Legends in Concert.

Trompies consists of Eugene Mthethwa, Jairus ‘Jakarumba’ Nkwe, Zynne ‘Mahoota’ Sibika and Mandla ‘Spikiri’ Mofokeng.

As it is the norm with Legends in Concert shows, the festival will have a short line-up with performances lasting for eight hours, starting at 5pm up to midnight.

According to the organiser and music promoter, Lekopanye ‘Lecco’ Kenosi of Leccotainment Promotions, Trompies is making a return to Botswana a little over a year due to popular demand.

The group was in Botswana on May 28 during the sold-out Waar Was Jy Oldies held at Botswana Craft.

“The group is in demand and we said why not bring it if the people want the music outfit. This is another show not to be missed,” he waxed lyrical.

Kenosi also said they have decided to use the Wagga Gardenex because of its superior spaciousness and and the fact that it provides a relaxing atmosphere.

“The last show was sold out but there were more people outside Botswana Craft who wanted to get in but due to its capacity, we had limitations. This time, we want to give many people that chance to see Mapantsula in action,” he added.

He also said the outdoor venue is good for summer events.  Kenosi pointed out that tickets would still be limited.

He said fans have immediately showed their approval of the show despite the steep P300 entry fee at the gate. He announced that they have an early bird special whereby P300 will get two people in. The tickets are available at Liquorama outlets located at Molapo Crossing, Phakalane, Riverwalk and BBS Malls.

He stated that the event would give patrons and friends an opportunity to say their goodbyes to each other before departing for the Independence holidays.
