The Propellers Swimming club through their academy hosted the third Wintercamp Intergala at Broadhurst Primary School under the theme ‘consistency is key’. The gala was sponsored by Stanlib, Petromas, Clearcut Diamonds, 4th ID, BP, Kidney specialists and the Mmelesi family.

“The Intergala is a follow up to the Wintercamp we hold every year for the kids in our academy,” development coach, Sydney Seabo said. He said it is important for the kids to stay on form even when they are on holiday. That is why they had the kids enroll for winter camp.

Seabo told Sport Monitor that the gala is part of their all year round training program as they will be kick starting the summer camp after the Intergala.

Propellers secretary, general Rosie Motlhabane pointed out that the gala is meant to gauge the swimmers progress from the winter camp, grow the competitiveness of the swimmers and build their team spirit.

She thanked the sponsors of the event for their commitment to the development of swimming in that they saw it necessary to help the kids in the academy hone their skills through the competition.

Seabo said he felt that even though the kids performed well at the gala, there was still a lot of work for them to do in terms of having more of their kids represent their school teams in competitions and also getting called for the national team when they reach the required age.

He singled out Junior Keitsile and Thata Ramakoloi who he said could get a call-up in 2020 for the CANA championships expected to be held in Botswana.
