Chiefs were relegated from the BTC Premiership last season, largely due to financial woes.

Despite the team's good start to life in the lower league, where they remain unbeaten after three games, the old financial ghosts have not left.

Club chairperson, Thapelo Tsheole urged members to lend financial support.

'All donations are exhausted. Fundswereused for 30 players' registration, BFA subscription, transporting players for medical exams, accommodation for coach and seven rented houses for 14 players in Mochudi. Daily transport of about P1,000 since August 19 for five days in a week for players to practice sessions. Most players stayed outside Gaborone. Transport for away and home games, food for camping, signing on fees for some players and this week, a significant amount for JJ's Bokamoso medical expenses,' reads Tsheole's letter.

He urged supporters to make donations to the clubs' account, warning against giving money to individuals. Tsheole had a cheeky message for those owed by the club.

'Lona ba dikoloto tsa bogologolo, please wait. All the donations have been used.'

Chiefs have managed to draw impressive crowds to their matches as they seek a quick return to the top flight.
