Chico's Systems send alarming bells ringing

The fruits are there to see, as Systems remain the only side to maintain a 100% record and top the log standings with 12 points.
Nare did not enjoy the best of starts to his System career, when the team, at one stage, went for 10 games without a win.
He was, however, given a lifeline by the trigger-happy Systems top brass and he managed to finish seventh in his first full season in charge. Despite being in the top-flight football for close to two decades, Nare has never won the championship.
He had an inspiring season with BMC FC (now Gilport Lions) a few seasons back as they finished second. His Extension Gunners’ side also produced some of the best football infused with the ‘kasi flavour’ style of football but his team did not win any major title while his term at Orapa United was cut short.
Systems were not the busiest in the transfer market due to a limited budget but brought in defender, Kabo Mungabe and attacker, Morris Ruzivo from Orapa United and Mochudi Centre Chiefs respectively.
The two are the only seasoned players bought in the winter transfer window. Systems are not blessed with abundance of talent in the squad but have shown they know how to knick results. The experience of Ronald Chikomo and Kenanao Kgetholetsile are stirring the Alarm Boys to greater heights.
There have young talent raising their hands in Systems’ best start to the season. During his reign, Systems have a good record against the league’s traditional title contenders, Jwaneng Galaxy, Orapa United, Gaborone United and Rollers, losing just twice to the giants.
The past weekend’s win over holders, Township Rollers, has sent warning signs to the title contenders. It all started with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Morupule Wanderers, before a 2-1 win over sleeping giants Notwane. An away win at BR Highlanders sent Systems to the top of the log after three games.
Systems have found the net six times and have the best defensive record this season, it seems Chico is gradually coming of age. Nare, however, in a previous interview with Mmegi Sport shot down chances of winning the championship.
“This squad that cannot win the league. We would be putting pressure on ourselves if we claim to be one of the contenders. I just told my boys that we just need a good start, but that does mean we will have a good finish. But it helps with the pressure and gives you confidence for the rest of the season,” he said.
