Green queen, Seitshiro gears up for world pageant

“I am well-prepared to take on the world and put my country on the map.
With this crown I intend to put Botswana on the global spotlight as the leading nation in conservation and sustainable development. Together with the help from my fellow citizens, together we can achieve my goal,” Seitshiro confidently said.
This comes after the beautiful 23-year-old queen outshone others in the competition at the local pageantry grand finale that was held in Gaborone recently.
Seitshiro, who is a Marketing Management student at Vaal University of Technology in South Africa, said she has never felt this ready.
She also promised to do her level best to bring the crown home.
However, she stated that her journey towards scooping the crown was not all roses as she was competing against other equally talented and dedicated young women.
Seitshiro was quick to reveal that the grand finale required time, dedication and patience.
“Miss Earth mainly focuses on protecting the earth and encouraging sustainable development. I believe my social cause is environmental awareness, exactly what Miss Earth is about. The aim of my project is to raise awareness on the importance of indigenous plants in our country. Other projects in the pipeline include waste separation and tree planting,” she said assertively.
Seitshiro further explained that when she won the crown, it was more like a confirmation of that she was on the right track.
She said the crown would enable her to voice out her opinion about conservation. Seitshiro further disclosed that she joined the pageantry because it was an effective platform to promote environmental conservation and awareness.
This young queen said her love for pageantry developed at a very tender stage of her life.
She explained that her mother and her aunts loved pageantry, something she inherited. She did her first pageant in 2009 and didn’t win. However, that did not demoralise her as she kept on pushing.
The following year,she joined Miss Tlokweng CJSS where she finally won the crown.
That was the beginning of her journey in the pageantry as she joined a few more pageants till she joined Miss Earth Botswana 2019.
“I would like to tell other young people aspiring to partake in beauty pageants or any form of art that a winner is a dreamer who never quits. Envision yourself with the crown or your talent everyday,” she advised.
The coronation of the international pageantry will be held on October 26, 2019 at Naga City in the Philippines.
A total of 120 contestants from different corners of the world will be battling for the crown.
