The PSBC letter dated June 22, follows the Court of Appeal (CoA) resolution on the long dragging matter of BOFEPUSU and BOPEU membership status in the PSBC, each accusing the other of not being an appropriate member.

However, the PSBC general secretary Patla Ulaula says in the letter to the trade unions that a formal communication on the format and date of submission of the required information to the PSBC would be communicated to the trade unions on or before July 8.

Ulaula also adds that the PSBC had been directed to conduct a determination of the trade unions’ membership figures, but said the PSBC first has to study the judgement of the CoA with a view to ensure that its contents are sufficiently internalised and effectively implemented within reasonable time.

Ulaula says in the meantime the PSBC is still completing its own internal processes on when and how the information required from the trade unions should be packaged for consideration by the PSBC, adding that they are presently in touch with PSBC legal advisors to assist in the interpretation and application of the aforesaid Court Order in order to evade any potential blunders during its implementation by the PSBC.

Ulaula says they anticipate to have completed their own internal processes by July 5.
