Aspiring and established actors attended the Gaborone auditions. Top three finalists will be signed to a South African agency. The auditioning hopefuls came in numbers to the extent that the Friday auditions ended at 1am with over a hundred people being sent home and come back the following day. On Saturday it was a full house.

The hopefuls comprised people of different ages with notable faces such as Berry Heart and Mmakgosi Tau, who also came to try their luck.

The auditioning actors were given two minutes to impress the judges with their own scripts. The judging panel comprised film expects such as Tumelo Chaba, Eunice Wadikonyana and Johnson Otlaadisa.

Hopefuls performed different genres, ranging from comedy, romance, to drama.

“It has been amazing; we have received a lot of people. On day one we literally had over 300 people. It has been amazing; we had amazing talent,” said Mercy Madube the Signed Act sales and marketing agent.

She stated that the judges were looking for natural talent. “We need raw talent, confidence and something not too obvious.”

The top 10 will be announced in two weeks. The last auditions will be held in Gantsi this coming week.

The top 10 finalists will go through some mentorship that will be aired on Btv. Film veteran, Connie Fergusson will be part of the mentorship as she will take the aspiring actors through different acting elements.

Madube stated that the top 10 will be reduced to five people who will battle it out till three winners are chosen.

Season One of Singed International produced actors such as Tlholego Chaba, Kgomotso Ratsie, who have acted on South African productions such as Generations and Scandal respectively. The auditions have been held in places such as Francistown, Maun, Lobatse and Jwaneng.
