Ramotlhwa's love-hate relationship with BFA

Ramotlhwa has been part of the BFA administration for a lengthy period, serving under the last three of the four presidents. But, he has been notably been at variance with two presidents he recently served under.
He was the only surviving member when David Fani’s camp swept the stakes in the 2008 election, defeating then incumbent, Phillip Makgalemele.
He quit after sharp differences with the Fani camp, barely a year after he took office as BFA vice president administration. He was back running for office, but lost to Tariq Babitseng for the same post in June 2014.
Although he has been hailed as a man of principle, who lives and dies by the constitution, his in-and-outs at the BFA are likely to dent a reputation built over the years.
Following the defeat to Babitseng in 2014, Ramotlhwa was back in 2016, this time in the corner of Maclean Letshwiti as he defeated Tebogo Sebego for president.
Again, differences arose which led to clashes with his colleagues in the BFA National Executive Committee in the lead-up to the Extra Ordinary General Assembly last month. Ramotlhwa had questioned the agenda of the meeting, which he said was at variance with the constitution.
Again, it was apparent that Ramotlhwa’s days at BFA were numbered, and the BFA confirmed his removal on Monday. But with an election due next year, there could yet be another twist to the tale.
