Paul denies Amrouche rift

Paul, who is national Under-20 coach, travelled with the senior team after the Belgian roped him into the set-up early this month.
This followed the departure of Mogomotsi ‘Teenage’ Mpote as Amrouche’s assistant. Letang Kgengwenyane is now the Zebras assistant coach.
But there were reports that the two clashed in Egypt, which has been swiftly dismissed by Paul, who said he enjoys a good relationship with Amrouche.
“Nothing happened in Egypt. It is people who are jealous who are spreading such lies. I am not going to lose focus. People should support us and not tarnish our names,” Paul said yesterday.
He said there was no reason why he would fight Amrouche, as he was not even the Zebras assistant coach.
“Why would I challenge the coach? I have a job. I am in good terms with the coach, we speak regularly, and I even transport him around Gaborone in my car. Why should I fight him?,” Paul said.
He said some unnamed people wanted to pursue their own agendas by trying to drive a wedge between him and the coach.
“It is all jealousy and hatred. Some people did not expect to see me back at BFA,” he said.
The Botswana Football Association (BFA) also said there was no bust up that took place in Egypt.
