This week, President Mokgweetsi Masisi announced that the duo Neo Aobobe and Maxwell Dichi would start an apprentice programme with Harvey Global soon. He said they held a competition for qualification into the elite SHG apprentice programme.

SHG is focused on creating and delivering entertaining and motivational content, products and experiences to audiences around the world.

“After receiving hundreds of applications, there was a short listing of applicants and two names emerged as successful candidates,” he said.

Masisi also said the collaboration between Botswana government and Harvey Corporation has started bearing fruits.

“Harvey Global will create opportunities for investment in the media technology and entertainment, targeting the youth and youth entrepreneurs,” he said.

He said working with Harvey Global would enable the youth to undertake the full film movie production in Botswana from 2020. Aobobe and Dichi were announced shortly after Steve Harvey himself revealed details abut the programme in a video clip.

“When I was speaking at the University of Botswana, I issued out a call looking for young students who can participate in my social media campaign,” he said.

Harvey revealed that Masisi had a different idea and therefore suggested that the government pay for the selected individuals to become interns on the hit show Family Feud to be shot in SA.

“I thought it was a wonderful idea so the selected two will be around somebody like myself and my team. You will learn the ins and outs of business and it will be a life-changing and great opportunity,” he highlighted.

Aobobe is a Botswana based MC, television and radio presenter for sport and agriculture with a communication background and a major in English.

Dichi is a web designer, web manager, a tutor and lecturer in various modules such as web technology, web programming, web animation, sound and video for web, multimedia broadcasting and visual effects.

They will remain there until the relocation of Family Feud Africa from SA to Botswana. It is expected that once relocated to Botswana, the SHG production will advertise for more apprentices and further selections.

SHG is home to East One Twelve, Harvey’s in-house production company that develops and produces content across digital, documentary and feature films, animation, and scripted and unscripted TV.

Harvey/East One Twelve executive produced Think Like a Man, Little Big Shots, and Little Big Shots: Forever Young, amongst others.

In an unprecedented move by a host, Harvey obtained the format licence for East One Twelve to produce Family Feud internationally and will executive produce the show in South Africa and Ghana, to begin airing in 2020.

Family Feud is a popular international television game show. Aobobe and Dichi will be part of the production as Harvey hosts the iconic 26-episode show game show, in which two families compete to name the most popular responses to gathered survey questions in order to win cash and prizes.

This fun-filled family show will be produced by the multi-award winning Rapid Blue who are well-known for bringing a load of smash hits to TV screens such as “SA’s Got Talent”, “Dancing With The Stars SA”, “Come Dine With Me SA”, “Take Me Out Mzansi”, “Bachelor SA” amongst many others.
