Puma Energy will provide 30,000 litres of ULP 95 and 10,000 litres of diesel for sale at subsidised prices.

The company will also handle logistics ensuring that fuel is delivered to the racing teams. Speaking at a press briefing last week, Puma Energy general manager, Mahube Mpugwa said the new support is in addition to the one where they have been sponsoring the motor and quadbikes participating in the desert race since 2011.

“As an organisation we rally behind events that boost tourism and the country such as the just-ended Wesbank International Airshow, Khawa Sand Dune Challenge among many others,” he said.

He said the fuel supplied by Puma Energy will be provided to all registered participants of the race; being racecars, quadbikes ormotorbikes.

According to Mpugwa, their keen involvement in the desert race reflects their continued commitment to fuelling success in the region.

“We will continue our commitment to support activities that have the potential to develop the tourism sector in Botswana. We aspire to continue sponsoring the event as we see the benefit and the private sector should also play part to support these events,” he added.
