The COSAFA Cup represents coach, Peter Butler with the remaining chance to salvage silverware as his reign moves to a close. The Englishman’s contract expires in March 2017, and with the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations campaigns ending in disappointment, the COSAFA Cup has assumed improved significance.

Butler said Dambe and Galenamotlhale, both who limped off in the Zebras’ victory against Namibia on Sunday, were a doubt.

“Both are sore. I am not sure (about their availability), at the moment it’s touch and go,” Butler said yesterday.

“We have able replacements. I will give them as long as is necessary (to recover), but we have plan B. There are able replacements. I will give others opportunities. I am hopeful but I know DRC are strong and fit.”

Township Rollers goalkeeper, Mampule Mwasule, who spent last season on loan to BDF XI, took Dambe’s place and is expected to start today.

Tebogo Sosome replaced Galenamotlhale and might be given a starting berth today.

The Zebras have to contend with the physical Congolese as they bid to reach their first COSAFA Cup final.

If the Zebras are successful against DRC they will meet either South Africa or Swaziland who play in a 6pm kick-off first semi final at the same venue today.
