“This is an exciting squad as it comprises young and experienced players,” Greaves said. He said with this blend of youth and experience, he hopes to achieve positive results.

He said most of the players have shown great form in the local league, singling out UB Rhinos player, Herbert Nkonjera. “We are excited about the new players,” Greaves said.

Greaves adde that the two assignments against Tunisia and Ivory Coast will not be easy. He said Tunisia has an experienced squad as they had previously played in higher divisions, but said the Vultures have an upper hand since they have played the North Africans before in Senegal. “Ivory Coast has big physical players within their squad but they are clumsy and less skillful,” he said.

The coach included five uncapped players in the squad. The players are Eleazar Thuso Ndlovu, Cornelius Johannes Herbst, Dent Teddy Patrick, Koorapetse Lesotlho, Ishmael Pelaelo and Lekgobo Bafana.

Team captain, Ernest Eddy said the Vultures are going to Tunisia as underdogs since all their players are from the domestic league compared to their rivals who have players based abroad.

Eddy said his team has an advantage as it comprises young players that are still energetic.

“This (tournament) will also give them room to learn more,” he said.
