Several big name players however continue to be linked with moves to new clubs ahead of the start of the new season. Township Rollers have already lost the services of Tapiwa Gadibolae, Jerome Ramatlhakwana, Bobby Mathe and Pako Ketimilwe after their contracts elapsed.

Both Gadibolae and Mathe are linked with Police XI where they spent the whole of last season on loan. Gadibolae in particular had a good season and is part of the Zebras team at the COSAFA Cup tournament.

Ramatlhakwana’s loan spell also came to an end at Rollers and both parties did not renew the relationship. He was on loan from Don Bosco of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The former Zebras marksman is said to have attracted interest from other big guns such as Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Gaborone United (GU).

Rollers are reportedly eyeing BDF XI and Zebras defender, Mosha Gaolaolwe as one of their transfer targets.

The player still has a running contract with his club until June next year after signing an extension late last year. BDF XI have already lost Patrick Kaunda and Sadiki Takunda with the former said to be on his way to Jwaneng Galaxy.

Rollers are also said to be looking for a striker following the departure of Ramatlhakwana.

Coach, Mark Harrison is expected to reveal to the management which players they will keep as they welcome back those who have been on loan last season.

Chiefs are also making changes to their squad with the likes of Ntesang Simanyana linked with the club. Simanyana was recently released by GU following the arrival of new coach, Rodolfo Zapata. Two key players, Tendai Nyumasi and Lemponye Tshireletso are rumoured to be on their way out of the Kgatleng giants. Nyumasi is said to be close to joining Orapa United after a brilliant season with Magosi.

The club is also battling to keep coach, Mike Sithole at the club, who joined them two seasons ago. They recently succeeded in keeping their captain, Lesego Galenamotlhale for a further two years.

Following their successful season where they won the Mascom Top 8, Orapa United have since released two midfielders, Mgcini Sibanda and Lovemore Murirwa to pave way for new signings.

Sibanda in particular was a surprise release after manning the club’s midfield and was instrumental in their good showing in the Mascom Top 8 final.

They are said to be eyeing former Nico United captain, Richard Legwaila in a bid to strengthen their midfield.
