Mokoke replaces Enosi Mmesi who was shown the exit door on Thursday following a poor start to the season.

In his six games reign, Mmesi won once, lost twice and played three draws.

“MoCity management have faith in Pepezino.

Young ambitious coach Wame ‘Pepezino’ Mokoke to lead Kwena Ya Madiba on the road to take on BR Highlanders this Tuesday,” a statement from the club reads.

Pepezino has been serving as an assistant coach on Stars’ bench since the start of the season. The 28-year-old is youngest tactician to sit on the technical bench this season. His first assignment will be in familiar grounds as Stars visit BR Highlanders at the Serowe Sports Complex.

Pepezino, known for his no-nonsense approach to coaching spent a few seasons with Mahalapye Hotspurs and will be eager to impress the trigger-happy Stars top brass.

Mokoke becomes sixth coach for the team since gaining promotion to the elite league two seasons ago.

He takes after Matshidiso Moseki, Keitumetse ‘Pio’ Paul, Rapelang ‘Razor’ Tsatsilebe, Mike Sithole and Mmesi. Meanwhile, Stars have launched a new replica for this season.

The club parted ways with local clothing sporting brand, All Kasi after two years and has since launched a new partnership Kwena Sports Wear.
