She kicked off her ruthless performance against Kwenasereto JSS when they won 8-3 in the first game on Saturday.
She scored six goals and then grabbed five later on Saturday when they hammered Ledumadumane JSS 7-0. She was expected to face her former school, Radikolo JSS yesterday.
The competitions were held at the weekend all over the country with the winners qualifying for the national finals. Senwelo, who is part of the national Under-17 side, said she was happy with her performance for her new team this year. She joined Tlokweng JSS this year from Radikolo where she helped them win bronze last year.
“I have been struggling with the one-one situations, but today I was very good with those,” she said. Her coach, Rio Mazongo was also happy with Senwelo’s contributions and said she was inspirational to the rest of the team.
“She can cover all the positions on the field. We put her in front early in the game so that she could help us get the goals. She has speed and we have realised that most of the Under-15 sides have a problem with pace,” he said. Mazongo is happy that most of the players in his team are in Form Two, which will enable them to continue doing well next year. Senwelo currently plays for FC Ambassadors and was instrumental in their promotion to the Women’s Super League where she scored a whooping 46 goals.
Ledumadumane coach, Adolph Gaborekwe said nerves might have played a part in his side’s performance. He said it was the first time his team reached the zonal level and this might have played a part in their performance. Hopefully next year we will do much better because this team is dominated by students doing Form One and Two,” he said.
