LIBF which celebrates Botswana’s beef industry, was founded by Barolong Seboni in March 2013.  Hosted in the town of Lobatse, the event celebrates and promotes business linkages, strengthens the community spirit and creates a platform to celebrate Botswana’s beef cuisine heritage.

On the day, people braai meat and enjoy traditional meat varieties such as Mokwetjepe, Mokoto and Serobe that they eat with their choice of pap (maize meal) or mabele (sorghum meal).

Besides headlining acts on the decks there will be a Lobatse DJ showcase as the lineup consists of Lobatse DJs being Dallas, Sala, Selecta and Stamina, save for one, DJ T’Do Soul Freak who hails from South Africa, supported by other Lobatse acts including Flipmode DC. The LIBF is committed to contributing positively to the town of Lobatse, through creating an atmosphere that is conducive for a family fun-oriented festival that celebrates Botswana’s rich beef heritage and industry, promotes local artists and boosts community spirit in the town of Lobatse as the beef capital of Botswana, a major international industry player. LIBF also provides an opportunity for some students of the Goodhope Brigade to volunteer from an Event Management and Coordination point of view on the day of the event.   This is a task they are awarded certificates of recognition and appreciation for and they are able to put these accolades into their profile as they market themselves in their respective job seeking efforts.

Whether one is a food lover in search of a tasty and hearty feast or out with friends or family, this year’s LIBF promises to exceed expectations according to the event organisers. Organisers have promised revellers a culinary adventure coupled with premium entertainment.   LIBF ticket holders will be spoilt for choice with options of “bottomless” pap (phaleche), sorghum (bogobe) to compliment the sizzling steaks, warm and hearty soul food.

Guests can also treat themselves to an array of beverages on offer from showcasing suppliers on the day.

One can take advantage of networking opportunities while enjoying premium food and entertainment on offer at this year’s LIBF. Tickets are available at all Webtickets for P250 and P500 for VIP and P50 for children respectively, with the option of delivery in and around Gaborone available for purchases of over 10 tickets.
