Little Miss Princess of the World returns bigger, better

According to the pageant director, Tebogo Lebanna, this year, the contestants proved to be ready to win the crown.
She said most of them had been in this competition in the past years and are still after the crown, this therefore means more experience from the past competitions.
“All contestants are willing to learn and are more experienced. This year there are two categories for ages eight to 12 years and 13 to 15 years,” she said. Lebanna added that there will be 15 models in each category, making it 30 girls in the whole competition.
One of the winners in the categories will represent Botswana at the world stage with other winners from across the globe.
She said only one winner will face the world in the Little Miss Princess of the World pageant.
The objective of the pageant is to promote performing arts, culture, tourism, love and friendship amongst children of different nationalities and build international relations with other countries at the world stage.
“It was started in 2015 and we are getting into the sixth year now as a successful event.”
Lebanna further explained that the previous winners were doing very well thus far. She said they had one who had been learning a lot and using the skills she gets from her experiences.
She said the former queen is now a first year law student at the University of Botswana at the age of 17. She further explained that it was through hard work and determination that she reached her dream at a young age.
The pageantry will kickstart with a fashion show that will be held on Saturday at Westwood and the entrance fee is P100.
During the fashion show, children will be showcasing their own unique designs.
They will be expected to unleash their creative skills and design attires with plastics.
The grand finale will be held in March next year.
