Now, to capitalise on the festive fever, the event organisers have set a new date, December 23, as their last event for the year.

Normally hosted every last Sunday of the month, event organiser Lucy Ranko, told Arts & Culture that the shutdown event will be held two days before Christmas in order to appreciate everyone who supported BFS this year.   He said they would not be hosting on a Sunday but rather on a Monday. “We would have liked to keep with the tradition since Sundays are regarded as the most chilled day of the weekend,” he said.

With the past event, the theme was denim affair; now Ranko said they would figure out the theme as well as a possible change of venue as time goes by. The denim affair event attracted people from nearby villages like Molepolole who came to Thamaga to enjoy music, food and drinks in a relaxed and appreciative environment. Bakgatla Baga Mmanaana in Thamaga like usual found a way to create positive vibes into a full swing family fun day.

The event that is mostly attended by women and children gave everyone a chance to relax while listening to a selection of music that would calm the soul. Children were in the pool enjoying the summer breeze while their elders were in a socialising mood
