The three-day event to be hosted in Masimo a Ntswaneng ko Ga MmaJoje is a 100% local artists event. Its main aim is to promote local talent.

The festival was set up to provide fun and entertainment to Sefhophe residents and neighbouring areas. In an interview, the event coordinator, Chilly Segona explained that this year the event is coming back in full force. He said as the event continues to grow, this year they intend to make it even more thrilling than the previous years.

“This is the fourth edition and the event has grown from a small one to one of the biggest shows in the country during the festive season. SCOFF, as it is known, is my brainchild. The festival has a tagline Sefhophe Ka Monate to testify to the fun that will be happening in the village this festive season. Motse wa rona o monate, fa o ka eta o tla Sefhopha you will never want to go back because of the fun here,” he explained, throwing in a vernacular word or two.

He also said that the objectives of the event are to curb long distance movement for people to find fun and avoid accidents and deaths. Segona said the event is also meant to promote Sefhophe as a leisure and entertainment destination.

“This is the only show that values local artists. We know our artists are capable of delivering fun, no wonder we give them the opportunity to headline the event,” he said. He added that they have other local artists such as Drak, Phologolo, Peace Bright, Chef Gustos, Kerry More, Presho, Skokovia, Figos, Naisiboy, Dj Stringo, Dj Alvovica and many more. Tickets will be sold for P100 and the event would begin at 2pm till late.

On Dec 30, they will host a Pool Party dubbed #WashAway2019. Entrance fee will be P30 and braai together with beverages will be on sale.

The festival also has a Family Fun day billed for December 25, 2019. Tsaya Thobane singer Dr Vom will headline the activities of the event and it starts at 10am till late with P30 entrance fee.

“The venue is 2.3km from Sefhophe with accessible roads. It’s secured with a fence. We have engaged a private security company with dogs. We have ample secure parking space for our clients,” he said.
