According to the BCP executive secretary, Akanyang Magama, the workshops would kick-off with a leadership workshop scheduled for today at Mmokolodi.

“Prior to being elected MP, Doyle worked for the political office of the parliamentary Labour Party facilitating best practice and engagement between backbench MPs, government and the party apparatus, as well as training MP staff during the last Labour Party government.

Howard Knight is an expert on local government and public sector performance, who until 2001 was Head of Local Government Unit in the Labour Party.

“On Saturday there will be a Training- of-Trainers workshop. The trained BCP Trainers will in turn roll out training of activists across the country on issues related to organisation and mobilisation.

Experienced BCP Trainers, Shadow Minister of Higher Education Dr Philip Bulawa and former Deputy Mayor of Gaborone City who is also Chairperson of Gaborone Region, Florence Shagwa, will facilitate the Saturday workshop,” he said.

On Sunday the Labour Party Trainers will interact with campaign teams at Kelemogile ward at Ramotswa in the morning.  In the afternoon they will interact with delegates at the Gaborone Regional Conference scheduled for Maoka Primary School.

Magama said the BCP value the support from WFD through British Labour Party.

He said it is a relationship that is based on mutual respect and like-mindedness in core political values anchored on social democracy.
