Masisis third week in SA hospital

Yesterday, government spokesperson Jeff Ramsay said his office would communicate with the press once the vice president is discharged and is back in the country.

“We talked to him on Tuesday but he was still admitted in South Africa. My office will communicate with you once the VP is discharged and back in the country. We expect him to be back soon but we can’t state the date when he will be discharged,” Ramsay said.

The government spokesperson said he could not disclose the VP’s ailment.

Last week Ramsay said Masisi was admitted to hospital sometime before May Day and the Office of the President subsequently released a statement on the condition of the VP.  “The Office of the President wishes to inform the nation that His Honour the Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi has been hospitalised in South Africa, where he had gone for medical assessment and treatment.  His Honour is making good progress and is expected to be discharged soon, whereupon he will resume his normal duties,” Ramsay said at the time.
