First Division South League has lost four teams, two relegated to Division Two (Modipane United and Black Rangers) while two gained promotion to the beMOBILE Premiership (Black Forest and Boys). The committee chairperson, Sam Keitireng told Mmegi Sport yesterday that they are yet to consult on how to fill the slot. He said they have to read the play rules and regulations and decide on the way forward.

“This is the first time it happened in our league. We should be able to come up with a solution this week,” he said. Meanwhile, it was a sweet moment for Rolling Boys, who only two seasons ago, then known as Security Systems were denied Premiership promotion after failing to pay subscriptions.

Boys were established in 1994 and it was during the 2013/2014 season that the then Security Systems merged with Tsholofelo Rolling Boys. This was after Systems was punished by the Botswana Football Association (BFA) for failing to pay subscription fee to the Gaborone region.

The team went all the way to the High Court to challenge their de-registration from the BFA. It was a turning point in the history of Systems together with Police XI as they had to pave way for BR Highlanders and Notwane back then.

“We played in the second division for one season and progressed to First Division. We worked hard and went all the way to reach the promotional play-offs during the 2014/2015 season, where we lost to Highlanders,” said Boys public relations officer, Tshiamo Mareko.

He said that did not dampen their spirits as they continued working hard and they have finally realised their dream.
