The two sides will meet in a fortnight, with the minnows enjoying home ground advantage, although the venue has not been confirmed.

Firstly, the Tonota side is determined to progress to the next stage of the competition, and secondly, they are eyeing a big pay day against the country’s most supported club.

“We are excited about this match. The mood in the camp has reached an all time high. The players are very eager to face Township Rollers. The match will be a great opportunity for our players to showcase their talent on the big stage and possibly attract suitors,” Tonota FC chairperson, Lebogang Supang said.

“The other important factor is that we want to intensively market the game in order to attract a lot of spectators. We are a struggling club in terms of finances. Should many spectators attend the match, I am confident that the money we will generate will help sustain the club for the rest of the season,” he said. Supang said the team is yet to reach a final decision as to where the match would be played. He also said at the moment they are toying around with the idea of taking the match to Francistown or playing at their home ground in Tonota.

“Our wish is to play the match in Tonota to honour our supporters who have been with the club through thick and thin. Rollers struggled playing on a hard surface against Kazungula last season and we believe we can also give them a good match if we take them to our ground instead of the stadium in Francistown.”  “However, we are very likely to play the match in Francistown because we want to attract a lot of supporters. We believe if we want to attract a lot of supporters playing the match in Francistown will be very ideal. A decision on the venue of the match will be made before the end of next week after thorough consultations,” Supang said.

Orange FA cup matches in Francistown are usually staged at the Francistown Council Stadium.

Hosting Rollers has in the past proved to be lucrative to lowly rated teams. Last year Kazungula Fighters made over P44,000 from hosting Township Rollers in an Orange FA Cup quarterfinal.

That was after they paid P42, 000 to the Botswana Football Association as levies. Rollers got a share of P54, 000.
