Flamingoes look to push on as action resumes

Flamingoes take on Calendar Stars in Francistown tomorrow. The match might turn out to be an entertaining affair as both sides have been doing well this season.
After a slow start to the season, Stars are now in position four with 19 points. Unbeaten Flamingoes have accumulated 28 points, five ahead of second placed Nico United. Nico will be home to Motlakase whose well-documented financial troubles have negatively impacted the club. They have a slim chance of winning on Saturday in Selebi-Phikwe. Chouka lie ninth on the log with 11 points after two wins, five draws and four losses.
Mourning Green Lovers are away to another Francistown based side, Eleven Angels. The match would be an emotional one for Lovers who recently lost their owner and long time coach Onthusitse ‘Chips’ Kootswele.
Angels are also in the league race having managed 21 points out of 12 league matches. All teams have played 12 matches at this stage of the season, except Sankoyo Bush Bucks and Motlakase who have a game in hand. In another notable fixture, former premier league sides Great North Tigers (GNT) and Sankoyo will meet in Maun. Sankoyo are still in the title race, sitting at position five with 16 points and a game in hand. Tigers have managed 14 points and are at position eight.
Sixth placed Santa Green, who have enjoyed a good run in the league will play hosts to Maun Terrors in Mahalapye. The league rookies have managed 15 points in the league, one ahead of seventh placed Terrors.
Another interesting match is expected between two relegation candidates, Francistown City Greens and Tonota. For the past three seasons, City Greens have been struggling in the league. They are now bottom of the log with five points, just above Tonota FC who have managed nine points thus far.
