Man Killed At Illegal Dumping Site

Kutlwano Police Station commander superintendent Rodney Nkokwe confirmed the incident saying that they received a report from the deceased's wife last Monday.

'His wife filed a report on Monday evening when she did not see him or hear from him since Sunday,' he said. He said that it looks like the deceased was killed on Sunday when he went to scavenge for trash at the illegal dumping site in Gerald but he was only found there on Tuesday after his wife reported him missing. He had gone there using his van.

'He was found with what looks like a stab wound,' said Nkokwe.

Nkokwe said that they are still investigating but so far they have not been able to arrest anyone.

Nkokwe further warned that when people go to places like these, they should be in the company of at least one other person.

'These are dangerous places because they are illegal and when you go to places like these you are bound to stumble upon some criminal elements,' he said.

He went on to say that there is a legal landfill in Dumela area but sometimes people set up illegal landfills in the bush to cut short the trip to the landfill.

'But that is dangerous,' he said.
