This was revealed in court yesterday when the two appeared before Extension II Magistrate Ntobizodwa Ncube. The magistrate heard that the investigating officer submitted the file to the DPP on Monday and that the prosecution has not had time to peruse through the file.

The prosecution has asked for 14 days to peruse through the file. However Ncube ordered that they avail the file to the defence counsel, Martin Dingake by Friday this week.

Sebola is facing a charge of stealing an official file while Serite is charged with receiving stolen property. The file allegedly contained confidential information on Tsaone Nkarabang.

Sebola is allegedly serving suspension, as he is an employee at the Office of the President.

The duo recently spent time at the First Offenders Prison after the police had successfully applied for their remand.

This is because the police had said they were unable to conduct the search at their homes after chaos caused by members of the media and the general public.

The case is a first of its kind against a journalist in the country and it remains to be seen how it will play out in court. Both accused persons are out on bail.
