Tsabong: Here comes the Orange Togetherness Celebrations tour

History will be made when an international artist being Dr Malinga performs at Kgalagadi’s capital for the first time ever. Orange Botswana has injected a sponsorship of P1.1 million into the show and the tour will go on until December shifting from place to place.
With just one international artist to support the local artists, the rich line-up of local artists includes heavyweights such as Vee, MMP Family, Mapetla, Dramaboi, Tizo, Franco, and Slizer. On the decks it will be DJ Chrispin, DJ SID, DJ Gouveia, DJ Nyaboski, DJ Seenae, DJ Abdul, DJ Kriss and DJ Sly. The MCs on the day are T.H.A.B.O of RB2 and the German Twins from Pula Power.
In an interview with Showbiz, Togetherness Celebrations tour spokesperson Benah Kobotwe said; “In every village that we go to we make sure that an artist from the place is in the lineup.”
She said they engaged international artists in the lineup in order for local artists to benchmark and network. Kobotwe said artists such as Vee, Dramaboi and Mapetla are the permanent line-up and will always be there as the tour continues. “We add more upcoming artists to give them a chance to showcase their skills,” she said. She said the whole idea behind the show was to make a build-up for the jubilee celebration. “There is too much tension in the music industry so this show brings artists together and we have mixed different genres,” she said. Kobotwe said they don’t want any division in the industry, and they are grateful for the support they got from Orange Botswana.
Orange Botswana spokesperson Carol Kgafela said Orange supports Botswana arts and local youth.
“The show was put together by a company that is owned by young Batswana,” she said. “That is one of the reasons why we support it.” Kgafela said they were happy the show gave unknown artists in villages a platform to shine.
