Despite his newfound popularity on social media, Jujuvine only managed to pull a paltry crowd for the event.

He was a social media runaway sensation when he first published a ‘mock up’ video of the English singer Adele’s hit single Hello, last year. The video was an instant Facebook hit.

But it was after playing the video that he really had the audience in stitches. It was when he made a joke of a recent article by sister publication, Mmegi titled, ‘Confessions of a Gaborone stripper’.

He said: “Have you read about the trending article published by Mmegi? About stag parties? Ok listen to this”.

He played a video in which he criticises the article saying, “Stag parties are sacred. They are a long standing tradition.  Talk of strippers.  What stripers? Those parties are attended by people of high stature. I am talking about ministers, councillors as well as CEOs”.

“Whether Mmegi publishes fabricated lies about stag parties they will continue.  You attend your bridal showers, your kitchen parties and baby showers and we never say anything,” he said. Off to a late start, the show’s first act of the night came from Kgafela of Mochudi.  The relatively new comedian tried his best to warm up the stage.

Kgafela got his first shot at stardom at the weekly comedy show dubbed Ribcracker Nights held every Tuesday at the Cresta President Hotel.

Next up was Ommusitse ‘Stix’ Magacha, who also tried his best to ‘crack ribs’, but it was Jujuvine, who really kicked the mood up into high gear on the night.

Another seemingly favourite act and final performance was from Charles Manase. His first joke was that he is in no way related to the electric fencing company, Manase.

“The tag line, ‘best erections in town’ that is the only way we are linked. We give the best erections in town,” he joked.

Mawee closed the night in style with his fair share of comedy tricks.

“Last week I donated one of my kidneys to one kid. When a Btv presenter came to interview me, he asked if I will be doing this every year. I was baffled,” he said.
