Wells started the match showing intention to walk away with the grand prize. The side was the first to bat and the BDF pitcher was Kagiso Mogale.

The player is well known for fast, strong balls. He did not waste time as he sent off Wells batters with straight strikes. The inning ended with Wells failing to score. BDF IX’s Obusitswe Lekgothu was first on the bat and his first swing was a miss and it did not take long for him to walk out after straight strikes from Kealeboga Tsienyane. BDF IX also failed to score. The inning ended 0-0.

Aobakwe Baolopi landed safely in the first base after bunting for Wells. The second inning was promising for Wells as they loaded the three bases.

Thabiso Radithobane’s long range hit changed the complexion of the game as Wells registered 3-0. The score-line brought pressure on BDF IX as they went to bat for the second inning. Neo Mnqobisa was the man sent to bat for BDF. Tsienyane did not have mercy for him as he sent him off with straight strikes. BDF IX finally scored after Gaarogwe Witness hit a home run to make it 3-1.

The army side was now gaining momentum, but Wells was also on top of their game. Wells short stopper, James Mutoroke made a perfect catch to deny Mathame Tshepiso a run. BDF IX came from behind to equalise in the forth inning to make it 3-3. The game went for a tie-break where Wells won it 5-3. Meanwhile, Police IX women’s side had an easy victory over Panthers to become the league champions with a 9-3 score. Police IX walked away with P100,000 as well. Panthers pocked P65,000.

The third position went to Gatalamotho (men) and Rail Giants (women). Forth position Rail Giants (men) and Dinare (women). Invidual prizes: Best player north (men) - Rebaone Pilane (Carats); women: Pauline Tukisi (Rail Giants); best player - south (men) - Tiro Mazulungwa (Panthers); women: Khumo Gababolokwe (Wells International).

Best Pitcher (men): Kealeboga Tsienyane (Wells), women: Oreabetse Mojeremane (Police IX) Slugger (men) - Baolopi Thamuku (Wells); women: Khumo Gababolokwe (Wells). BoFiNet league best player (men) - Tiro Mazulungwa (Panthers), women: Khumo Gababolokwe (Wells). President’s awards (men): Marumo Morule, women: Christine Jokonya.

Softball South Africa President, Matshilo Matsetela and Zimbabwe Softball secretary general, Witness Nkomo graced the finals.
