This follows their 2-0 win over Mochudi Rovers on Saturday. Before the weekend, Maistaoka, who are still at the top, set comfortably with a three point gap. However, their title charge suffered a dent when they failed to break Broadhurst United on Saturday. The two sides played to a goalless draw, leaving Masitaoka now sitting uncomfortably at the top with Fighters now breathing heavily on their necks. It was Masitaoka’s second successive draw having dropped points against Mochudi Centre Chiefs a fortnight ago.

With an average of six games left, the battle for the title and subsequent promotion to the Premier League is expected to thrill. Uniao Flamengo Santos also registered a victory, beating Black Forest 4-3 to stay on course for promotion as well. Santos are currently sitting at position three with 32 points, five behind log leaders. Chiefs returned to winning ways, beating Ncojane Young Stars 2-0 and retained their fourth position. However they find themselves nine points behind log leaders. Ncojane’s path to the lower division is becoming clearer after yet another defeat. They have collected just 10 points from 18 games.
