Broadhurst Police Station commander, Bonosi Molapisi, told Mmegi that, “We managed to exhume the body yesterday (Tuesday). The family was involved and they came to identify the body”.
The station commander explained that to locate the body, “we were following leads, the woman, did not confess anything, there was no confession. Our intelligence lead us to the place where we had reason to believe that the body was buried”.
Selaolo was initially charged with abduction but the charge is likely to be changed to murder when she re-appears for mention on April 21.
In a press statement released yesterday, the police say, “The body of the deceased was exhumed by the Police at a hill near Mankgodi Village yesterday (12/04/15). The boy who was a pupil at Bosele primary school, left his home for school and never returned.”
Mmegi visited the deceased’s visibly distraught family at their Block 3 home. The boy was buried immediately on discovery.
The family said they want justice to take its course, and hope the court case will reveal why their child was killed.
“We do not have answers at this moment. We have put our faith in God. We still do not know what happened, the Police have not yet briefed us since yesterday,” one of the family members said.
Investigations into the matter continue.
