Gustavo Scheki Releases New Single

He has been in the industry since 2012 even though he only went into professional recording in 2015 when he released his first single titled ‘Kana Ke Hoo’. Since then he started working on recording experimental songs to prepare for a new release.
After a five-year hiatus Gustavo has released a new single titled ‘Boys Cry’, a song he says took a lot of dedication to make, as it resonates and seeks to dispel a long held belief that boys do not cry, even when they are hurting in a relationship. He pointed out that the lyrics of the song narrates the pain that a boy goes through in a relationship and also calls for the counterpart in a relationship to be considerate towards their male partner. He said that he was on a hiatus due to his commitments in school as he recently graduated from the Institute of Development Management (IDM) with a degree in community management.
“The song was released last week, but I can say that the response has been very overwhelming. Already some people have been making challenges on Facebook with the song,” Gustavo told Showtime reporter. He said he is still working on publicising the launch of the single, but is impressed that it has already garnered the attention it is getting in its first week.
The song was recorded at 205 Entertainment Studio and Uniq produced the song, while Axeonthebeat did the sound engineering.
Gustavo says after having a rough time finding a studio to work with to record his songs 205 Entertainment approached him with an offer to work with him to polish his talent and work on new songs.
Gustavo says he is currently working on an album, which he hopes will be ready for release in the middle of the year or during the festive season. When answering a question on how he thinks the recent coronavirus outbreak will have an effect on his plans, he said that the outbreak will surely affect his programme one way or another, as it has already had a significant impact on the music industry with festivals being cancelled. He said this means that the one source of income for artists would be gone.
He also said that the music industry has been a challenge as a lot of people do not buy CDs but only want to download songs online, which means they are not making any money from their music. He said that he has been working on a collabo with Noello, which is not yet ready for release.
