Masisi to report Olopeng to Khama

If Olopeng does not listen, Masisi will report him to President Ian Khama.
This was after the Selebi-Phikwe West legislator, Dithapelo Keorapetse, complained to the Speaker, Gladys Kokorwe, that Olopeng hardly attends Parliament sittings on Fridays.
Keorapetse also complained that questions that should be answered by the minister were always postponed to a later date because of Olopeng’s absence.
Kokorwe then directed the query to the Leader of the House, Masisi who acknowledged the “unfortunate absence of Honourable Olopeng”. Masisi said he had called Olopeng in the morning and had had a word with him. “I acknowledge that I talked to the honourable minister this morning. If the problem persists I will report him to his boss,” Masisi said.
Although he did not disclose the name of the boss, it was clear that he was referring to Khama who is the Head of State and reportedly, Olopeng’s close confidante. Later MP for Francistown South, Wynter Mmolotsi, demanded to know who was Olopeng’s boss, since Masisi is the Leader of the House.
Kokorwe refused to entertain the question and said Mmolotsi should have asked the question at the relevant time. Olopeng was not available to respond to Francistown West MP, Ignatius Moswaane, who had wanted to know about the applications for the Youth Development Fund and Youth Industry. He also wanted to know the guidelines for processing applications and the turnaround time.
