BDF plots against spys daughter

In a letter dated March 22, Lieutenant Colonel Malefho Ntsayakgosi sought Mothobi’s daughter to show cause why she should not be dismissed from the BDF, a fate that also befell her father. He too had earlier been troubled with a communication from the force suggesting that he too was not fit for duty.

The letter reads: “Pursuant to the findings of the medical board convened on 09 February 2016, you (the spy’s daughter) have been found to be unfit to continue with military service due to your condition.”

“In view of the afore-going, you are directed to show cause why you may not be discharged from the force on medical grounds.

Your intended discharge is in accordance with Defence Force (regular Force) (discharge) Regulation 2 (10).” The 19-year-old private responded to the BDF this week stating her reasons. She has allegedly told the BDF Commander that she is fit and is ready to serve her country. Sources close to Mothobi’s daughter however have told this publication that the BDF has frustrated her from the start. “They believe she is there to spy for her father.

They do not trust her and that’s why she has not been deployed yet whilst her badge mates have already been deployed to various posts,” said a close family ally who further confirmed that the young woman is currently stationed at the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks (SSKB). Said the source: “She is frustrated that they are using her to fight her father. She says they want her father out and she is being dragged in the spy world war before she herself becomes one.”

The spy’s daughter was given 14 days to reply or face dismissal. The 14 days ended this past Monday but she had already written to the Commander. It remains to be seen if they will consider her appeal but should she be dismissed the case is expected to open a can of worms by exposing the dark world of the military intelligence unit, which her father is highly involved in.

It has also been alleged that the BDF top brass wants to settle scores with dissenting voices in the military.

Mothobi was the talk of the country when he was implicated and identified as an accessory in the murder of John Kalafatis. He allegedly instructed the ’hitman’ to shoot and kill Kalafatis in cold blood at a busy Gaborone drinking spot.
