Minor granted bail for rape

Biki Zibiso (30) and a 17-year-old boy residing at Block 1 are alleged to have used violence, threatening the complainant with a grass slasher, during the commission of the crime.

Prosecuting officer, Goitsemang Ramatome told that court that on the day in question, the victim was walking with her boyfriend during the day, when the duo approached them. The boyfriend fled leaving his girlfriend behind at the mercy of the two accused.

In her testimony, the victim said she overheard Zibiso and his partner talking about killing a person before the rape happened.

Granting bail, Mulalu ordered the pair to pay P1,000 each, not interfere with the investigation, not provoke the complainant in any way and make themselves available whenever needed.

Ramatome opposed the bail application, saying rape was a serious offence. The two are to appear again before court on April 19.
