Motlakase still believe they can avoid relegation

Radipotsane said the boys look impressive and focused on the pitch. Motlakase are 14th with 23 points from 26 games. Rookies Green Lovers are a place above Motlakase with 24points while BR Highlanders are 15th with 19 points.  Three teams drop to the First Division with FC Satmos already the first casualty. Chouka face Gilport Lions this weekend, and play relegated Satmos, Gaborone United and Extension Gunners in the last three matches.

Green Lovers take Police XI this weekend, and have title-chasing Orapa United, log leaders Township Rollers and BDF XI in their remaining games, in what is a tough run-in. Motlakase beat Sankoyo Bush Bucks 3-1 while Green Lovers lost to Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Radipotsane said the most important clash is this weekend’s game against Gilport.

“The boys were very focused at the Sankoyo game; they did their best regardless of the heat. Even during the Orapa game, they fought until the last minute. It was just that they were unlucky to score but missed several chances. I am certain that if they can carry on with that spirit to our weekend encounter, we will walk away with three points,” said Radipotsane.

He, however, said the fact that Chouka use young players affects them as they lose enthusiasm over minor issues. He said scoring first gives them motivation to fight, like they did in their game against Sankoyo.

Green Lovers, meanwhile have not thrown in the towel. Their coach, Onthusitse Kootswele also said they will fight with all they have until the last whistle.
