Orapa are eyeing the league and cup double

Orapa United spokesperson, Tebatso Hule said they remain optimistic in their chances to win a double as the team is also in the final of the Mascom Top 8.

“We appreciate that the rules provide that whoever feels has a case, can present it and that does not concern us,” he said. “We don’t want to be distracted. We are focusing in what we have been pursuing on the field the whole season.”

“This is the most critical time; we have four very important games in the league and a final to prepare for. And considering that we also have suffered a small setback in terms of our plans with a weekend draw, we have a lot to work on,” Hule added.

When quizzed if they had met the quota of registered players and if they will protest against any team that has breached the quota he said: “As far as we are concerned we have the right number of players, but we want to remain focused on the field. We have not considered protesting any game or at least it is not in our current plans.”

Meanwhile, Hule said their support base is growing and they have started their preparations for their maiden Mascom Top final on and off the field.

“We are working around the clock to mobilise as many people in our region to attend the Top 8 final. We have recently launched supporters clubs here for a start and they are working tirelessly to mobilise more people.

“It is also interesting that we are experiencing and enjoying a growth in support from outside the region (Boteti). Our replicas are in demand so much that we continuously run out of stock.”
