Football-hungry Francistowners, are backing Mamoja Diski to bring back Premiership action to the city.

The Mahalapye community has pinned its hopes in Hotspurs to retain their representation in the elite league, with current representative, BR Highlanders in a precarious situation.

Amahot are top of the log, two points ahead of Mamoja Diski.

In the first round fixture they played to a 2-2 draw in Mahalapye. Now with three games to the end of the season, the winner stands a better chance to finish at the top of the table.

ECCO coach, Texan Phiri said they are still focused on returning to the elite league and they continue with their chase.

“We have worked so hard to reach this stage and we cannot fold our arms now. We will continue chasing the leaders there is nothing different,” he said.

“We are in a good position, we are injury-free. The boys are upbeat they have long awaited this fixture. We understand what we need to do and we remain focused, we cannot be happy until the last whistle,” he said.

Hotspurs manager, Kebonye Tau said the team is back from the holiday break and their preparations are in order.

“We are preparing physically and mentally,” he said.

“We have engaged a psychologist to help our players for this encounter. The pressure is with them (ECCO) they want to finish at the top and that makes us underdogs and it could work for us,” he said.

“We are approaching this game as leaders and we are going to take the game to ECCO, we know how they play and they don’t really know our game,” Tau added.

In other games on Saturday, third placed Sua Flamingoes takes on Palapye All Stars, TAFIC plays Tonota FC and Tsabotlhe plays Kazungula FC.  All games kick off at 3:30pm.
