Sebego released a statement on Tuesday saying the resolutions of the BPL board at their Saturday meeting shall stand pending submission of the reports from the two parties.

Amongst the resolutions adopted by the board was the suspension of the chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi and his secretary as well as recalling of the board chairperson, Walter Kgabung.  Sebego in his statement also said the BFA CEO, Kitso Kemoeng will take charge of the BPL office in the meantime.

The board had appointed Horatio Mohloane as acting BPL CEO.

Mmegi Sport has been reliably informed that the BPL board has disregarded the statement and vowed that their resolutions stand until directed otherwise by the BFA national executive committee (NEC).

“As far as we are concerned the resolutions stand and we are unmoved.  That office is being run by the Premier League and not the BFA office because that statement was written by the BFA president without the involvement of the rest of the NEC,” one of the board members said yesterday.

The board was scheduled to meet Sebego yesterday while also waiting to inform the BFA NEC about what transpired at their Saturday meeting.

Efforts to get a comment from the BFA president a the time of going to press were unsuccessful as he was in a meeting. The Premier League schedule is expected to continue this weekend despite the confusion with some crucial encounters lined up.

Log leaders, Township Rollers have a date against Miscellaneous in Serowe tomorrow night. Defending champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs will look to bounce back to winning ways when they take on Green Lovers tonight in Serowe.

Chiefs slightly lost pace with log leaders a fortnight ago when they played to a 1-1 draw with Police XI. They now trail Rollers by four points.

Orapa United will also look to maintain their good run and pile pressure on Rollers when they take on tricky Police XI on Sunday. BDF XI take on Extension Gunners in what is expected to be a thrilling match tomorrow afternoon.
