The committee secretary, Sydney Magagane said teams should know play rules and regulations before protesting. He said it seemed the applicants did not know what they are protesting about.

“We have four games left and you should be focusing on the league. This is not fair to Boys,” he said.

The treasurer of the committee, Thebeetsile Mokgwa said it would be wrong for the committee to work on assumptions.

He said teams should put their house in order in the next appearance. Sam Keitireng, the committee chairperson said if teams are issued with all documents they are requesting for, it would be like witch hunt. He urged teams to study their facts right for the next appearance.

Lesirane and Rangers are challenging Boys’ use of Omphile Sebolai who was on successive yellow cards. The applicants argue the player should have been on suspension when Boys played against them.  According to a protest submitted to the committee by Rangers, the team argued that they deserve to be given three points and two goals.

Reacting to the accusations levelled against them, Boys chairperson, Lenamile Letsogile informed the committee that they have not received a protest from Rangers.

He said it was not possible for them to continue with the matter. He said they needed time to prepare their defence.

“We were not aware of Rangers protest. We should be given time to prepare our defence,” said Letsogile.

Meanwhile, Magagane said Boys would be served with the documents from Rangers. He said the team had submitted their protest on time, but the problem was the committee’s  miscommunication. He said the committee did not form a quorum hence the delay.

Lesirane spokesperson, Jacob Amon said they were not aware that Sebolai was a defaulter and only learnt ofthe situation after the match.

He said they investigated the allegations and found that it was true.

“It is unfortunate that the committee was not cooperative when we requested for match sheets for all the games that Sebolai had played in the second round. Those were not availed to us,” he said.

Amon said they were not experts on the laws of the game hence the mistakes they made in their submissions.
